‘Maddox’ – Melanie Moreland

Three young men meet in university and form a lifelong friendship.

Their pasts dictate the men they are, but their present shapes their future.
What happens when these men meet the one person they are destined to be with? Can they fight their feelings and walk away? Or will they each succumb and learn the sweet agony of love?

Brought up in chaos and fear, Maddox requires order and control to cope with life.
He has his career and two closest friends. That is all he needs.
Until Dee enters his life.
She brings forth feelings he has denied himself his entire life—and threatens his control.
He wants to hold.
Damaged by her past, Dee cannot admit her feelings for him, fighting him at every turn.
Is he strong enough to show her—to prove love is worth the risk for both of them?

I’ve enjoyed this series so far so had high hopes for the third book in the Vested Interest series. Melanie Moreland definitely delivered. What a book!

We met Maddox in both previous books but we learn more about him now and how his past has shaped who he is. His relationship with Cami’s sister Dee is explored further and we find out more about her past too.

Maddox is a very controlled, calm and rational man. He is very cautious and all about his business and friendship with Aiden and Bentley. He is also gorgeous, cocky and has a bit of a dirty mouth!

The relationship between Dee and Maddox is complex but works perfectly. They are just what the other needs. Neither wants love or a relationship, but they find a balance that works for them. Even if their friends don’t quite understand it. Maddox is wary of opening himself up after his past and Dee has the same problem. These complex characters have incredible chemistry and watching them come to terms with their relationship is a rollercoaster in itself for the reader.

Once again we see more of Bentley and Emmy, and Aiden and Cami. It’s nice to see how they are getting on after their books and how the whole family unit works.

After two great books in this series, this one definitely doesn’t disappoint and the little Easter egg will please her fans immensely.

Sexy, emotional, dramatic and funny. This book has everything you need. I laughed, cried and smiled a lot.

Maddox releases 9th July.
